Blackpool International Airport is an international airport, in the Borough of Blackpool on the Fylde coast of Lancashire, England. It was formerly known as Squires Gate airport.

With aviation roots that trace back to 1909, Blackpool Airport was the first aviation site in the UK.

Blackpool Airport is conveniently located at the end of the M55 which links up with the M6, and onwards to the M61, M65 and beyond.

With the capacity to handle two million passengers a year and 14 check-in desks and extra baggage reclaim facilities, passengers can pass through more quickly and conveniently.

The facilities include a 14-desk check-in concourse, a Meeting and Arrivals area, Horizons café and Bar Icon facilities and our own Tourist and Information Centre.

Once through security, passengers can relax in the open plan Departure Lounge with seating for up to 600 passengers, enjoy some last minute shopping in our stunning airport duty free shop, or a relaxing drink or bite to eat in the restaurant and bar.

CAR HIRE
Hiring a car couldn't be easier. Car Hire is provided by Europcar, Hertz and AVIS. a choice of vehicles is available at competitive rates. Hertz are located outside Arrivals and Europcar and avis in the Pay to Park car park just outside the terminal doors.

CAR PARKING
FREE car parking to all departing passengers! Take your ticket on entrance to one of the Passenger Parking car parks, retain for the duration of travel and on your return, validate your ticket at the pay machines located in the Arrivals Hall before exiting the terminal. Free passenger parking is for a maximum of 15 days, after that, the tariff is £10.00 per day or part thereof. Pay to Park is ideal for people collecting and dropping off passengers at the airport. The first 15 minutes is free.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Rail - Squires Gate railway station. Direct Northern Rail Pacer and Sprinter trains to Blackpool South, Preston and Colne (East Lancashire).
Bus - Blackpool Transport bus services 1, 7, 11, 16, 20 and Stagecoach services 68 and X61 stop near the airport with routes to Blackpool and as far as Fleetwood (northbound) and Lytham St Annes, Preston and Manchester (southbound).
Tram - Blackpool Transport tram services are available from Starr Gate terminus on the Blackpool tramway, running along the promenade, along the Golden Mile northward to Bispham, Cleveleys and Fleetwood.
Taxis - free telephone located inside the terminal building.
